BARE METAL POWER

What Is a Physical Server (Dedicated Server)?

A physical server, also known as a dedicated server, is the highest level of hosting in which hardware resources such as processor, RAM and disk are allocated entirely to a single user or project without virtualization.

Unlike shared hosting or virtual servers (VDS), there are no "neighbors" on dedicated servers. All of the server's I/O performance, bandwidth and processor power belong 100% to you.

The machine you rent physically sits in a rack in our data center; you decide the operating system, kernel version and disk layout from start to finish. Since root/administrator access is entirely yours, you can compile a custom kernel or hand over all the hardware to a virtualization platform. In short, what you rent is not an account, but a real machine.

PERFORMANCE COMPARISON

Differences Between a Physical Server and a Virtual Server

Virtual servers (VDS/VPS) are created by splitting a physical server through software and use resources within certain limits. With Physical Server Rental, however, there is no virtualization layer (hypervisor) in between.

The absence of a virtualization layer reduces the latency between the hardware and the operating system to a minimum. It is the ideal solution especially where milliseconds matter, such as game servers and Big Data analytics.

In plain words: a virtual server is a slice of a powerful physical machine set aside in your name, and it is more than enough for most websites, panels or applications. A physical server is the whole cake; the monthly cost is higher, but you hit the ceiling in per-core performance, disk I/O and network capacity. The right question is not which is better, but whether your project actually generates enough load to saturate the whole machine.

USE CASES

What Is a Dedicated Server For, and Who Should Use One?

Dedicated servers are designed for projects that need high resource consumption where standard hosting solutions fall short. If your project receives thousands of visitors at once, shared environments can create a bottleneck for you.

Companies that want to build their own virtualization structure can also create their own virtual machines by installing platforms such as VMware ESXi or Proxmox on physical servers. If you want to split a single powerful machine and distribute it across multiple projects, you can also consider a ready-made Virtual Data Center solution.

The rule is simple: if your workload is predictable and consistently high, getting the resource directly from the hardware rather than from a rented slice is both faster and more economical in the long run. This is exactly why render farms, heavy databases and large gaming communities choose a physical server.

WHY NETVAY?

NetVay Privileges in Physical Server Rental

At NetVay we do not just rent you a server; we offer an end-to-end infrastructure partnership. All our dedicated servers are hosted in our Istanbul Tier 3 data center with redundant power and climate control infrastructure.

With the 1 GBit and 10 GBit port options we offer as standard, you never face a line bottleneck. Thanks to the RAID 50 disk architecture used in our hardware, the failure of a single disk does not put your data at risk.

In case of a hardware failure you wait for no one: spare parts are ready in the same data center and our technical team replaces the faulty component on site. We monitor your servers 24/7; from disk health to network traffic, we often catch potential problems before you notice them.

Questions On Your Mind.

Frequently asked questions about dedicated server rental processes, delivery times and our technical infrastructure.

Ready-configured servers in our stock are delivered within the day once the process is complete. For orders that require special hardware, we deliver within a maximum of 24 hours including testing.

Absolutely. Our physical servers are delivered to you as 100% bare metal. You have full control over the hardware. You can install virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi and Proxmox VE and create your own virtual machines.

Yes, remote management is standard on all our dedicated servers. Through the iDRAC or iLO interface you can reformat your server and enter the BIOS settings.

Of course. As your project grows you can increase the RAM capacity of your current server or add extra SSD/NVMe disks. You only need to open a support ticket for this.

The NetVay network infrastructure has a layered security architecture. On all our dedicated servers, an L3 and L4 DDoS protection shield that is active at the line level is offered free of charge.

Every server plan comes with 1 IPv4 address as standard. According to your needs, you can add subnet blocks such as /29, /28 or /27 to your order or purchase them later.

On our servers with a 1 GBit port, unlimited traffic is generally offered within a fair use policy. On high-capacity lines with a 10 GBit port, TB quotas determined by your plan apply.

No. Windows Server or Linux distribution installation and basic optimization are done free of charge by our technical team; you only need to state your preference after ordering. For control panels that require a license, such as cPanel and Plesk, only the license fee applies; the installation is still on us.

Yes. Since the physical server is 100% allocated to you, you have full root authority on Linux and full Administrator authority on Windows. You install any software you like, change kernel settings and configure the server as you wish.

If your project consistently and predictably generates high load, a physical server where you use the whole machine on your own gives the highest performance. For smaller or variable loads, a virtual server (VDS) is usually more economical and flexible. If you are not sure, our sales team will direct you to the right product based on your usage.
