What Is a Nested Server?
A Nested Server (nested virtualization) is an advanced cloud technology that lets you create your own child virtual machines by installing another virtualization layer (hypervisor) inside a virtual server (VDS) that itself runs on a physical server. Normally, virtual servers cannot use hardware virtualization features (Intel VT-x or AMD-V) directly; the NetVay Nested infrastructure passes these features through to your server using "passthrough".
Put simply, inside a high-performance VDS you rent, you can install virtualization software such as VMware ESXi, Proxmox or Hyper-V and split the server into parts as if it were a physical server. This structure offers revolutionary flexibility, especially for those who want to build their own "mini data center".
What Are the Use Cases?
Nested servers offer much more than a standard web hosting service. IT and hosting companies in particular use this infrastructure to sell VDS/VPS to their customers without investing in expensive physical servers. By getting a single powerful Nested plan, you can set up and manage 10-20 customer servers inside it.
It is also ideal for education and test environments. System administrators and students choose Nested technology to simulate building a real server cluster, to test different operating systems at the same time or to create cybersecurity labs. Software developers (DevOps) can also create isolated Docker or Kubernetes environments on these servers at no extra cost.
Nested Server Prices & Economics
Renting a physical server (dedicated server) requires high budgets because of electricity, rack, IP block and hardware costs. Nested server prices, on the other hand, are up to 60% cheaper than physical servers. While on a physical server you also pay for idle capacity you do not use, in a Nested structure you rent only the CPU and RAM resources you need.
At NetVay, we offer powerful processors such as the Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8168 in a "Nested" architecture at affordable prices. With plans that scale from entry level (32 GB RAM) to professional level (512 GB RAM), you can grow your server as your project grows. On top of that, you are completely free of physical operation costs such as hardware failures and disk replacement.
Nested vs. Physical Server Differences
The biggest differences are "ease of management" and "delivery speed". Installing, cabling and setting up a physical server in the data center can take hours or even days; your Nested server is set up in minutes with full automation after payment.
On the hardware side, when a RAM module or disk fails on a physical server, your server has to go down and you have to wait for the part to be replaced. On the NetVay Nested infrastructure, our servers run on redundant enterprise hardware. In the event of a hardware problem, we can move your virtual server to another physical node without data loss or noticeable downtime. Nested combines the power of physical with the flexibility of the cloud.
Hardware Passthrough and VT-x Technology
At the heart of nested virtualization lies hardware passthrough (direct access) technology. While processor instruction sets are hidden from the virtual machine on standard virtual servers, on our Nested servers the Intel VT-x and EPT (Extended Page Tables) features are exposed directly to your operating system.
This way the ESXi or Proxmox system you install sees the underlying hardware like a real physical processor. Performance loss (overhead) is reduced to a minimum. Our Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8168 series processors, with their multi-core architecture and high cache capacity, have the power to run even dozens of nested virtual machines smoothly without bottlenecks.

Frequently Asked Questions.
All the answers you are curious about nested server rental and technical details.
With standard VDS plans you are given a ready operating system (Windows/Linux). On Nested servers, the hardware virtualization feature (VT-x) is enabled. This way you can install VMware ESXi, Proxmox or Hyper-V inside your server and create and manage your own virtual machines.
Absolutely. Our Nested infrastructure is optimized directly for virtualization platforms with hardware passthrough technology. During or after ordering, you can choose the virtualization ISO you want (ESXi 7/8, Proxmox VE, etc.) from your panel and install it with one click.
To minimize performance loss we use enterprise-class hardware. Thanks to Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8168 processors and SSD disks in a RAID 50 configuration, even with nested virtualization you get speeds very close (95%+) to the host machine's performance.
Yes, that is the main purpose of Nested servers. From your customer panel you can purchase IP blocks such as /29 or /28 or request single IPs. You can assign these IP addresses to the virtual machines you create (Bridge Mode) and expose them to the outside world.
Yes, many hosting companies and gaming communities use our infrastructure for this purpose. Thanks to high processor power and our DDoS-protected network, you can split game servers such as Metin2, Minecraft and FiveM into VDS and sell them to your customers.
Of course. As your project grows you can upgrade your plan without any data loss. For RAM or disk increase requests you only need to restart your server; your data and installed virtual machines are preserved.
